As the book I call My Life may be closing in on its final chapter. Still I have accomplished nothing. I feel as though Death looms over me as he grasps my curtain, waiting for the last grain of sand to drop from my hourglass. My chest, my will, my heart. Never before have they been so minute. Alas, to pass on into the unknown, having never experience true love’s first kiss, the sacred, internal bond that is present and shared during the natural act of romantic sex. I leave behind no legacy, no bloodline to expand for generations to come. I’m the last of my kind. The last of my family. Such precious memories. How few of them I posess. Nearly all of my life spent in solitude. Pain, agony, deception, revenge. Such an eventful life which boasts no happiness. It’s as if joy itself had disipated completely from my being. Yes, my time may very well be near, yet I feel so incomplete

Now, I have several theories regarding who Amon is, but I’ll just start with the most obvious conclusion. We do know that he has the power to take away someone’s bending, but according to Tenzin, only the Avatar has that power. Perhaps Amon was a bender himself, and that flashback could be the link indicating a conflict involving the previous Avatar, Aang, and Amon himself. During that conflict, Amon possibly lost against Aang and as a result, his bending was taken away. Now, many years later, he has formed an anti-bending group in response to that conflict, and he’s possibly on the path of Revenge, and his target is in the form of the new Avatar. Aang’s reincarnation, Korra, as well as the benders in general. His promises for equality among the people of republic city could just be a facade.
